We’re still thinking about what a night we had at In the Lowest Ferns.

The outdoor space completely came alive with Josh The Wash behind the decks, while Chance Romance kept the party going inside. Kora Kay and Minti Varieties brought the drag, Anakin Rae brought the heat as our featured dancer, and Natalie Leslie spent the night face painting and adding a little extra color to the crowd.

It was one of those nights where everywhere you looked something was happening. People dancing outside under the lights, a completely different vibe waiting inside, old friends finding each other and plenty of new connections being made. You all brought the energy and made the space feel like ours for the night.

And We Raised $2,500 for JAYDOC GAN

Five smiling women pose at a nighttime street event before a brick wall mural, with crowd and portable toilets behind.

While we were having all that fun, you also showed up in a big way for JAYDOC GAN. Raffle ticket by raffle ticket, together we raised $2,500.

JAYDOC helps make healthcare accessible for people who are uninsured or underinsured, and JAYDOC GAN is an especially important resource for our trans and gender-diverse community. Having a place where people can access care and resources without cost becoming another barrier can make life a little easier for members of our community. That’s something we’re incredibly proud to support.

A huge thank you to the team at In the Lowest Ferns for not only welcoming us, but getting behind the fundraiser with 20% off drinks and Express Bar access for donors. Thank you to everyone who donated raffle prizes, volunteered, performed, danced, painted faces, bought raffle tickets or simply showed up and added to the night.

We got to throw one hell of a party, and $2,500 went back into supporting our community because of it.

That’s exactly the kind of night we want Queer Bar Takeover to be.

Party with a purpose.
