Q Kansas City Celebrates Its First Pride Weekend Since Opening

KANSAS CITY, MO (June 2025) — Pride Weekend is here, and Q Kansas City is thrilled to celebrate its very first Kansas City Pride since opening its doors on February 14, 2025. Located at 504 Westport Road, Q is a queer-owned nightclub and gathering space designed to bring the community together through celebration, connection, and joy.

This weekend marks more than just a party, it’s a milestone. What began as a celebration of LGBTQ+ identity has grown into something bigger: a chance for everyone to show up as their full selves, let go of the world’s constraints, and experience the power of being alive together.

The Kansas City Pride Parade kicks off right here in Westport and makes its way to Theis Park. The streets will be alive with color, music, and community and Q Kansas City will be right at the heart of it all with a packed lineup of events:

• Thursday: Latin Night

• Friday: Drag Race Watch Party at 7 PM + The Glitterati Drag Show at 11 PM

• Saturday: DJs spinning from 10 AM to 3 AM

• Sunday: Tea Dance at 1 PM + Karaoke at 7 PM

“We built Q to be more than a nightclub it’s a home base for the queer community,” said Lance Pierce, co-owner of Q Kansas City and founder of Queer Bar Takeover. “This first Pride since opening is incredibly special. It’s not just about a party it’s about visibility, community, and joy. We want everyone to feel like they belong here.”

Since opening on Valentine’s Day, Q Kansas City has quickly become a vibrant home for the queer community hosting everything from electrifying dance parties to heartfelt community celebrations. Whether it's album release nights, sports watch parties, or moments of visibility and pride, every event reflects Q’s mission: to create a space where queer people and allies feel seen, celebrated, and truly at home.
