Kansas City is about to glitter pink as the Midwest Princess herself, Chappell Roan, brings two massive shows to the National WWI Museum and Memorial this weekend. With more than 30,000 fans expected each night on Thursday, October 3, and Friday, October 4, this will be one of the largest queer-centered music moments our city has ever seen.

And the impact isn’t just cultural, it’s economic. Officials estimate a direct boost of $13.8 million to Kansas City, as fans flock from all over the Midwest to stay in our hotels, dine in our restaurants, and experience our queer nightlife. For us, that means thousands of people coming together for unapologetic queer joy, and our city standing proudly in the spotlight.

Why This Matters
Chappell Roan isn’t just a pop star, she’s a queer artist who has been outspoken about trans rights, queer liberation, and the power of community. Kansas City gets to host a cultural moment that reflects who we are: bold, vibrant, and unafraid to take up space.
With two nights of music, drag, and queer joy, this weekend will be one for the history books. Whether you’ve been a fan since “Pink Pony Club” or you’re just discovering her, this is the weekend to celebrate unapologetically.
