Trans Day of Visibility Celebration to Honor Trans Brilliance and Launch Dee Dee’s House at Q Kansas City

Kansas City, MO In celebration of Trans Day of Visibility, Trans Women of Color Collective (TWOCC) is hosting a powerful evening of performance, fashion, and community connection at Q Kansas City, the city’s newest queer nightclub located at 504 Westport Road. The event will take place on March 28th from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM and is open to the public.

This community-driven event uplifts the talent, joy, and resilience of trans people—particularly Black and brown trans women—through live performances, runway walks, and a celebration of legacy. The evening will also mark the official launch of Dee Dee’s House, Kansas City’s first trans-led transitional housing program, created to support trans individuals in crisis.

Media are invited to attend and are encouraged to cover this vital event or schedule interviews in advance with Executive Director Nyla Foster, a nationally recognized advocate and leader in the movement for trans justice.

“This event is about visibility, yes—but also about action. Dee Dee’s House is a life-saving, community-affirming initiative that continues the legacy of one of Kansas City’s own,” said Nyla Foster. “We are calling on media and community members alike to bear witness, celebrate, and support the vision.”
